5th Annual Train With Ron Newsletter

We could not be more proud of everyone and all of the goals that were achieved in 2008. Anyone that has trained with us knows it is unlike any other workout they have ever been through regardless of background. So many new goals were accomplished like weight loss, PRs in 5ks, 10ks, push-ups, marathons, triathlons and all of our signature moves. Congratulations to everyone for all of your hard work! 2009 is already shaping up to be a fun and exciting year. Please take the time to read our Newsletter as we will be kicking off our On-Line Scheduling January 12th. We also hope everyone enjoyed a very healthy and happy holiday season!

On-line Scheduling

As previously mentioned, we will begin On-Line Scheduling January 12th. There will be a link from the TWR website to access the On-Line Scheduling. Please go to and bookmark www.TrainWithRon.com. We recommend you schedule your sessions as far out as possible. We are cutting the cancellation policy in half from 24 hours to 12 hours. This will be strictly enforced and very few exceptions will be made. You will also be able to schedule a session with a five hour window of your desired time. We recommend not waiting until the fifth hour to schedule. There will be a limit on the number of people allowed into every hour. This will be even more important when one of the three of us is out of town or traveling. PLEASE SCHEDULE IN ADVANCE so you are not locked out of an hour.

ON-LINE SCHEDULING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Go to the TWR website and you will see the On-Line Scheduling link.
  2. If you are married, siblings or significant others sharing an account you will need to create your own profile. This will not affect your billing. You can still share the same account for billing.
  3. Click the On-Line Scheduling link and you will see "New Users Sign Up" in the upper right hand corner. Start here by creating a new user profile.
  4. Once you have created your profile and password you will be able to schedule your daily and weekly appointments. If you need to cancel a session, do not send a text or email to Ron, Matt or DB. Instead, log into your account, click "My Schedule" and then "Cancel" at least 12 hours prior to your scheduled session.
  5. We have also made efforts to make scheduling an easy and simple process. There will be computers at TWR for you to schedule or change all future appointments.

2009 Rates and Free Sessions

Your 2009 rates will not go up or change. When you buy $1000 of training up front your next three sessions are free. NEW FOR 2009: When you buy $2000 of training up front YOUR NEXT 10 SESSIONS ARE FREE. In the past, you received 8 free sessions when you purchased $2000 of training. As always, any referral equals one free session. Your account must be zeroed out to receive your THREE or TEN FREE sessions. Thank you for all of your referrals in 2008!

Invoices

Invoices will be sent out approximately once a month. If you would like to see how many sessions you have left or where you stand on your Unlimited Personal Training please send Ron an email asking for an update.

Free Saturday Meetings

TWR will conduct free meetings the first Saturday of every month. These meetings will focus on fitness, health and diet. You guys push yourselves harder than anyone else training in the city. We know that working out is only part of the successful equation. Your commitment outside of the gym is just as important. We want to help with that other aspect. The meetings will entail success stories, body fat/weigh in measurements, food journals, what has worked and what has not worked, etc. Please feel free to invite family, friends or co-workers. It is completely free and will last one hour. The meetings will be held at TWR on the first Saturday of every month beginning at 7am sharp. Workout clothes are not required. PLEASE NOTE: to give everyone a chance to settle in from the holidays our first meeting will be on January 10th. Each Saturday will have a theme or a topic. If there is an area you want to focus on for the next meeting please let Ron know and we will put a lot of emphasis on that topic. The next month’s topic will be posted on the TWR Community Board.

Rank Your Workout

TWR is very excited to announce RankYourWorkout.com. Rank Your Workout is going to be an interactive fitness website where you can rank and chart your own workout activities from 5ks, marathons, how many push-ups you can do or how much you can bench press to name just a few. You can also see where you rank with others all over the world downloading one of our world famous moves like The Crazy Eights, The Terrible Twos, The Bench Press Relay and “The Move”. Most of you have seen our "movie set" at TWR for the upcoming launch of Rank Your Workout. Rank Your Workout will be FREE to anyone that is a current client or anyone who has ever trained at TWR. You will need a promotional pass code. Please email Ron and he will forward your promo code. We are planning on a launch date of February 15th.

TWR Charities

As you know, TWR held its first charity event in October of 2008, The Soldier Field Charity Hill Challenge. We held the event for Stephanie Burde, someone close to the TWR family. We lucked out with a perfect fall day and raised over $8000. As a group there were almost 3000 hills run that day. We want to thank everyone that came out to run and to everyone that sponsored someone that ran. We are planning on our second TWR Charity Event for the spring of 2009. Please contact Matt as he will be planning another successful TWR Charity Event in the spring of 2009.

Parking

When you park in the back lot make sure your sticker is showing. There have been a few instances of people getting towed. In each incident, the parking pass was not showing or was not placed on the driver’s side dashboard. The alley freezes in the winter. When this happens please walk to Randolph and then to Racine to avoid any accidents. If you find the back lot is full please go to the Lake Street parking lot. It’s a gravel lot located on the Northeast side of Lake and Racine or on the north side of the Green Line. The entrance to the lot is located on May Street (just like the current back lot) about 40 yards north or one lunge straightaway of Lake Street. Please call or email if this is unclear.

TWR Personal Record Wall of Fame

This is new for Train With Ron in 2009. TWR would like to give something back to its most dedicated clients. We love that you enjoy the motivation, chemistry and spirit of the gym. However, as trainers we can only do so much. You guys give 110% effort in your workouts and yet still find a way to push each other. No other gym in Chicago has the camaraderie TWR does and it is because our clients are also key to driving results.

Whether it's setting the tempo, competitiveness, personal pride or just giving the workout more effort than you could have done on your own, you guys have produced a friendly and positive environment with real results through hard work. Because of your dedication TWR would like to give our clients a piece of the gym. Each of you will get a small area of wall in the gym with your name on it. This will be a space for you to put some of your personal records on the wall. Whether it's your best four wall sprint, a 300 pound bench press or charting one of our signature moves, you will be able to chart your progress and hopefully give you something to beat down the road. You guys ALL have something to be proud of and have ownership in what TWR has become and what fitness should be.
